INFORMATION REPRODUCTION METHOD AND INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproduction method by which information can be reproduced at a diffraction limit or below and to provide an information recording medium.

SOLUTION: The information recording medium is provided with a recording layer in which recording marks 4 composed of a nucleus formation promoting material are formed and a reproducing layer 5. When a reproduction beam is emitted, a prescribed region of the reproducing layer is crystallized 7 so as to be made larger than the recording mark based on the recording marks 4 of the recording layer to reproduce information. Information of the recording marks at a diffraction limit or below can be reproduced without using a special information reproducing device.
