PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting thin capacitor which enhances reliability in conduction between an element reinforcing metal plate and the cathode side of a capacitor element, and can prevent the deterioration of a product characteristic. SOLUTION: An element reinforcing metal plate 14 is provided with one or several steps 14a having a recess within a thickness corresponding to a heat bonding insulating resin impregnating tape to be connected to the silver paste layer 4 of a surface mounting thin type capacitor 100. At this time, the shape of the step 14a is circular, elliptic or angular. Further, the element reinforcing metal plate 14 is fixed to a part of an anode 1 and a part of the silver paste layer 4 through a resin layer 13 formed with the heat bonding insulating resin impregnating tape.
