PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium on which information is recorded so that one and the same disk can be reproduced compatibly with respective countries to parental levels which are different country by country. SOLUTION: Two or more data groups having at least one of video information and audio information, and a reproduction permission level having a permission level at which reproduction of at least one of the video information and the audio information is permitted, respectively; and a reproduction management area in which pieces of reproduction permission range information for specifying the reproduction permission level range of the data groups permitted to be reproduced based on the reproduction permission level are collectively recorded, are recorded in the information recording medium of this invention. When the reproduction permission level and a data group are selected, the reproduction permission level range of the data group permitted for reproduction based on the selected reproduction permission level is detected, and reproduction is performed when it is determined that the reproduction permission level of the selected data group is within the detected reproduction permission level range.
