PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust-proof mechanism of an optical disk drive which can secure dust proofing and reduce the temperature in the drive at the same time and also maintain the quality and safety of the recorded data when operation errors happen. SOLUTION: This optical disk drive has a tray 3 to mount a cartridge of a disk, a main section 1 of the device to hold this tray 3 free to move in and out, a top cover 100 in contact with the main section 1, a loading motor 19 provided in the main section 1 to move the tray 3 in and out, a spindle motor 60 provided in the main section 1 to turn the disk in the cartridge carried inside by the tray 3, an optical pickup 61 to record or reproduce the data on the optical disk, a traverse 2 to house the optical pickup 61, a slide cam 23 to move the traverse 2 up and down, a front lid 30 driven by the side arm 14 interlocking with the traverse 2.
