PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cam mechanism for a zoom lens barrel capable of realizing the shortening of the length of a cam ring in an axial direction and the enhancement of the degree of freedom in terms of the arrangement of a cam groove. SOLUTION: In the zoom lens barrel, two or more kinds of cam grooves having a starting area and a finishing area separate in the rotating direction of the cam ring and having a different basic trajectory are formed on the single cam ring 15 driven to be rotated, and the cam followers of two straight advance members guided to straight advance in an optical axis direction are engaged in the two kinds of cam grooves.
