PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera stand which makes it possible to image a written document by the use of a commercially available digital camera and which is inexpensive and easy to carry. SOLUTION: When used, the stand is placed on a stand placing surface, such that two stand legs 14 are opened outside the basal end of the main body 10 of the stand. The main body 10 of the stand is erected and turned. A camera support arm 16 pivotally supported at the front end of the main body 10 is projected to the front of the main body 10 of the stand, and then turned. A written document A placed on the stand placing surface is photographed by a digital camera 1 attached to a camera holder 19 formed at the leading end of the camera support arm 16. When the stand is not used, the camera support arm 16 is stored along the main body 10 of the stand, the two stand legs 14 are turned along the main body 10, and the main body 10 and the two stand legs are folded parallel to each other.
