PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant applying method by which powder lubricant is uniformly applied to an auxiliary member for scraping and is uniformly supplied to a member to be cleaned by the auxiliary member, and what is called the squeaking of the auxiliary member for scraping is prevented from occurring, and to provide a cleaning device using the same. SOLUTION: In the lubricant applying method, liquid obtained by mixing the powder lubricant in volatile liquid is stored in a container and a member to be applied is immersed in the liquid stored in the container, whereby the powder lubricant is applied to the member to be applied. In a state where the temperature of the container in which the liquid obtained by mixing the powder lubricant in the volatile liquid is stored is kept constant, the member to be applied is immersed in the liquid stored in the container, whereby the powder lubricant is applied to the member to be applied.
