PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the convenience of users by increasing the types of transportable envelopes while suppressing an increase in the number of members in a paper carrying device by a pair of carrying rollers on a center positioning basis. SOLUTION: A roller 37e is formed in an area where a distance p1 between the pair of carrying rollers is 120 mm or longer at the center of the pair of carrying rollers 37 on the upstream side in the carrying direction. From the view point of more securely carrying an envelope 8 from which a flap 81 is opened, the pressing force of the roller 37e at the center of the pair of carrying rollers 37 is desirably be increased more than that of the other rollers, and the hardness of the roller 37e in Asker C is desirably be within the area of 30 to 40°.
