PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder capable of easily transferring a glass substrate without using any expensive device and suppressing deformation of the glass substrate during the transfer, and to provide a storage method capable of easily storing and taking out the glass substrate even when the glass substrate is stored and conveyed to a box for conveyance. SOLUTION: By inserting one ridge of a glass substrate G in a space between an abutting piece 12a of a holding part 12 and a guide piece 12b, the glass substrate G can be reliably held by the wedge action via a shaft 13. Since a holder 11 to hold the glass substrate G can be suspended, the glass substrate G can be rapidly and easily transferred without directly touching the glass substrate G by hand. Even when the glass substrate G is deformed by the transfer, deflection or shake is not generated in the entire glass substrate G always by a regulating unit 19, breakage or the like of the glass substrate G during the transfer can be prevented, and the glass substrate G can be safely transferred.
