<p>An optical integrated unit comprises a semiconductor laser (11), a polarized beam splitter (14), a light-receiving element (12), a polarized light-diffracting element (15) for diffracting a light beam (20) and a returning light beam. The polarized light-diffracting element (15) is so disposed that the light beam (20) transmitted through a polarized beam splitter surface (14a) strikes the polarized light-diffracting element (15) and the returning light beam which is diffracted by the polarized light-diffracting element (15) and the optical path of which is changed by the polarized beam splitter surface (14a) is received by the light-receiving element (12). As a result, an optical integrated unit in which the diameter of the light beam is large on the diffracting element and the length of the optical path from the diffracting element to the light-receiving element is long and an optical pickup device having the same are provided.</p> |
