<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TGF-beta type III receptor having effects such as cell proliferation or growth, cell adhesion and cell phenotype equal to that originated from murine or human. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides a DNA encoding TGF-beta type III receptor having a specific nucleotide sequence or a fragment of the same, a TGF-beta type III receptor polypeptide encoded by the same, and an antibody specifically recognizing the TGF-beta type III receptor.
