<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag capable of preventing any melting or breakage caused by heat damage at any sewing part even when using a regular inexpensive sewing yarn to form the sewing part of foundation cloth panels of a bag body to each other or the sewing part of a tether belt to the foundation cloth panels, and preventing an increase in size of a stored shape of the bag body by using a thin foundation cloth panel or tether belt. <P>SOLUTION: A bag body 1 to be developed by gas ejected from an inflator 7 is constituted by sewing a first foundation cloth panel 2 and a second foundation panel 3 to each other. A covering member 5 having a freely movable end 5a is fixed to a sewing part 6 with the foundation panels 2, 3 sewn thereto.
