<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unnecessary consumption in a process cartridge by clearly indicating driving of the process cartridge and driving of a transfer belt when "no toner" occurs in a full color image formation. <P>SOLUTION: Two or more photoreceptor drums which are electrostatic latent image carriers and developing means to develop the electrostatic latent images are installed in the periphery of a belt like transfer means in an image forming apparatus. In the image formation in a color mode, when a stopping condition for the photoreceptor drum which is other than black or the developing means is met, transit is made to a monochrome mode after completion of the image formation and before the stopping of a main body and driving of the photoreceptor drum which is other than black or the developing means is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
