<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transport stream processing apparatus capable of efficiently utilizing processing performance of hardware and software. <P>SOLUTION: In the transport stream processing apparatus for separating desired data from a transport stream (TS) by executing a plurality of items of processing, a hardware transport stream separator 1 executes one part of the plurality of items of processing by a hardware configuration. A software transport stream separator 14 executes the residual processing of the plurality of items of processing which are not executed by the separator 1 by a software configuration.
