PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for integrating a light emitting device with a power monitor. SOLUTION: A self-monitoring light source (110) is provided. The self-monitoring light source (110) comprises a light source (120) which generates light and a light monitor (130) which receives a portion of the generated light.
