PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed body for a water treatment filter media that is capable of suppressing the deposition of the foamed body with each other and the deposition between the foamed body and inner wall face of a filtration device and of enhancing the filtration efficiency of water to be treated. SOLUTION: The foamed body for the water treatment filter media 10 is constituted by a molded material 11 molded to a shape of hexagonal pole by a crosslinked foamed resin the diameter of the cell of which is 300μm or less. A protruded stria 13 as a concave part or a convex part to suppress the deposition to the other material is installed at the end face 12 of the molded material 11. It is preferable that the crosslinked foamed resin is a crosslinked foamed polyolefin such as a crosslinked polyethylene having a independent foamed structure. Further, it is preferable that the crosslinked foamed body contains a hydrophilic agent such as a nonionic surface active agent having ethylene oxide added to acetylene glycol.
