<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting device wherein the variation of chromaticity can be suppressed in a semiconductor light emitting element covered with a fluorescent layer for converting a wavelength by a fluorescent substance. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminating device uses a plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements 2 wherein fluorescent substances 3 are formed to cover a light emitting surface. The semiconductor light emitting element 2 is mounted as a semiconductor light emitting device mounted to a sub-mount element 1 to a substrate. The chromaticity property of the semiconductor light emitting device can be measured before it is mounted to the substrate. Therefore, even if the illuminating device using the plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements 2, the semiconductor light emitting device provided with the semiconductor light emitting elements having uniform chromaticity properties can be prepared, and the illuminating device suppressing the variation of chromaticity can be also obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
