<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil with the structural advantages that the incidence of fatigue generated in an inner cap which constitutes a female portion, is low and the contact area between a male portion positioned around the rear of a pen point and the female portion configuring the inner cap, can be kept airtight, even when burrs and inverted blisters occur in a manufacturing stage or the size is slightly lacking in correctness. <P>SOLUTION: This writing utensil has the male portion 12 including a tapered oblique section positioned around the rear side of the pen point 11 and the female portion 22 which is formed at the apex of the inner cap 21 inside a cap 2 and engaged with the male portion 12. A recessed groove 4 is formed in either one of the male portion 12 or the female portion 22, and an O-ring 3 is formed along the recessed groove 4 protruding from the latter.
