<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which has high freedom of an apparatus configuration and is excellent in the reliability of information control. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 is equipped with four paper feeding cassettes 103a, 103b, 103c, and 103d on a lower side of a main part 101. The main part 101 is provided with a main substrate 109 having a centralized control section 105. The centralized control section 105 has an antenna 111 for reception and transmission on a lower side. The paper feeding cassette 103a is equipped with a discrete controller 107a and a sensor 117a.
