<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image while preventing a black dot from becoming small even when the number of black isolated points exceeds a some threshold. <P>SOLUTION: When one line of LEDs is divided into a plurality of blocks and the LEDs of each block are driven with a corresponding strobe signal, a matrix circuit 41 and an identity gate circuit 42 detect isolated points of black pixel from data of each block, and a counter 45 counts the number of isolated points. Furthermore, black pixels of each block are detected and stored in the storage cell 41<SB>-5</SB>of the matrix circuit 41, and the number of black pixels is counted by means of a counter 50. When a comparator 51 judges that the number of isolated points is more than a threshold and a comparator 52 judges that the number of black pixels is more than a threshold, duration of the strobe signal of that block is prolonged correspondingly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
