PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of securely preventing a belt conveyor from meandering while reducing cost by abolishing crowning for adjusting belt tension in a cephalocaudal pulley and a drive pulley without installing V-cleats on the rear surface of a belt. SOLUTION: A drive unit is installed at the intermediate part of a conveyor frame 1, and at least two sets of brackets are installed, oppositely to each other, at the lower part of a frame between the drive unit and the cephalocaudal pulley or an end pulley. A cantilever type return roller 15 formed of truncated conical rollers increased in diameter on the lateral end edge side of the belt 6 and allowed to face each other through a specified distance on the small diameter side is installed on each bracket to support the outer surface of a return side belt 6a. When the return side belt 6a is meandered and, for example, moved to the right side of the frame, the end part of the belt is moved to the large diameter side of the right side truncated conical roller and the tension of the right side part of the belt is partially extremely increased, and a force to press back the entire part of the belt to the right side where a weak tension occurs.
