PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved switching apparatus for switching the feeding state of water and washing water for separate washing in a dishwasher 1. SOLUTION: The switching device 40 is provided with: a valve chamber 46; a ball 42 housed in it; and a stopper pin 43 which can appear frequently into the valve chamber 46. In a state where the stopper pin is retracted, the ball 42 moves upward in the valve chamber 46 together with the water to be fed or washing water to cover an exit 49 at an upper end. At the exit 49, a small notched recess part 52 is formed at a part of its inner peripheral surface. The notched recess part 52 is for leaving a channel of little water between the ball 42 and the inner peripheral surface of the exit 49 when the ball 42 abuts on the exit 49. By providing the notched recess part 52, the ball 42 never makes chattering due to a water stream when the ball 42 is fitted to the exit 49, so that the exit 49 is covered speedily.
