PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for culturing microorganisms in the case of using a harmful substance in the culture of the microorganisms, capable of reducing the using amount of the harmful substance. SOLUTION: This method for culturing the microorganisms by selectively and cumulatively culturing the microorganisms 1 as a culturing subject, having a reducing activity against a substance 2 deteriorating the growth environment of other microorganisms than the microorganisms 1 of the culturing subject in a culturing liquid 3 dissolved with the substance 2 is provided by performing the culture while regenerating the substance 2 reduced by the microorganisms 1 of the culturing subject by performing an oxidation reaction with an electric current passed through the culturing liquid 3.
