The aim of the invention is to simplify, in particular, the calculation of the production when making fancy yarn in ring-spinning frames with changes in mass and/or twist. To this end, the invention provides that control signal serve to alter the drafting and/or the ratio of the supply of yarn to the twisting of yarn by means of a computer (1) into which an algorithm is input by means of which the computer outputs control signals to downstream control devices (5, 15). The predetermined fineness is maintained by these control signals with regard to the change in mass due to the fact that the fineness in the area of the thin locations between the thick locations is reduced according to the produced thick locations. To this end, the control devices (5, 15) are designed for varying the rotational speed of the drives (8, 12) of the drafting assembly rolls (9, 13) and of the drive (17) of the spindles (19). In addition, the algorithm of the computer (1) is configured in such a manner that it allows the twist in the yarn to change according to the fineness in the yarn sections with varying mass so that the alpha value of the yarn remains the same. |
