<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read an information code optically and accurately in a short period by making it possible to discriminate whether the information code included in a block area is a bar code or a two-dimensional code before reading. <P>SOLUTION: A control circuit processes as follows. That is, the control circuit estimates a block area in which the information code may exist (S3), then, sets at least one of estimated existence block areas as an examination area (S4), examines the entire examination block by rotating an examination object pixel data group while centering the center position of the examination block (S8 to S11), and then, if the number of the examination blocks in which the tilt angles of the pixel data groups having a minimum evaluation score are all together within an error range is a predetermined count or more, determines the information code as a bar code. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
