<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for anaerobic treatment which can stably and efficiently perform the anaerobic treatment of organic contaminants by optimumly controlling acid generation and methane generation reactions in a symbiotic system of many kinds of anaerobic microorganisms. <P>SOLUTION: In the anaerobic treatment method for the organic contaminants having an anaerobic treatment process, the anaerobic treatment process monitors the concentration and/or sulfate-reducing activity of sulfate-reducing bacteria, and controls an operating condition according to the concentration value and/or activity value so as to keep the concentration of the sulfate-reducing bacteria within a prescribed range. The anaerobic treatment method comprises a pretreatment process which is utilized as the preceding stage of the anaerobic treatment process, and accelerates acid fermentation using the activity of the sulfate-reducing bacteria. A sulfate solution is added into a pretreatment tank in the pretreatment process, for controlling the operating condition so as to keep the concentration of the sulfate-reducing bacteria in the pretreatment tank and/or anaerobic treatment tank within the prescribed range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
