METHOD FOR MOLDING FOAMED POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE SHEET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molding always having a beautiful appearance by preventing pulled wrinkles from being formed on the surface even in severe molding conditions when a product is molded by using a foamed polyethylene terephthalate sheet. SOLUTION: The foamed polyethylene terephthalate sheet 4 is surface-treated at a temperature promoting the crystallization of its surface layer by a heating roll 6a. After the temperature of the sheet 4 is elevated to be close to room temperature, the sheet 4 is heated at a temperature which does not promote the crystallization but makes sheet-molding possible by a heating part 2. The heated sheet 4 is held between a pair of molds 3a and 3b which are kept at a temperature lower than that of the heated sheet to be molded in a prescribed shape. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
