PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous element capable of miniaturizing a fan motor more than a porous element using a ceramic fiber does while keeping durability and stability of combustion. SOLUTION: This porous element is formed of a woven or non-woven material using a metal fiber having heat resistance. Since the metal fiber is used for the porous element, a high void ratio can be realized like a porous element using a ceramic fiber as compared with the case using a porous sintered metal, and at the same time, evaporation of fuel on a downstream surface can be assured at a high level by suppressing heat dissipation. When the metal fiber is used, strength can easily be secured and the void ratio can dramatically increased even if thickness is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
