PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cermet plate-like body having high yield and excellent workability at the time of sintering. SOLUTION: This cermet plate-like body is made by mixing and sintering starting raw material powder made of first hard phase powder, second hard phase powder and binder phase powder. The first hard powder is made of carbide powder of Ti and at least one of carbon nitride powder and nitride powder of Ti, and is included by 40 to 65 wt.% in the starting raw material powder. The second hard phase powder is made of carbide powder, nitride powder and carbon nitride powder of one or more kinds of elements belonging to 4a, 5a and 6a groups in a periodic table. The binder phase powder is made of powder of one or more kinds of Co, Ni and Fe, and is included by 10 to 25 wt.% in the starting raw material powder.
