There is provided a gas generating composition having good combustion performance. The gas generating composition comprises a fuel, an oxidizing agent and a binder, wherein the binder is at least one selected from polylactone compounds. Poly-epsilon-caprolactone is preferable as the polylactone compound, and the weight average molecular weight thereof is preferably in the range of 100 to 100,000.
