<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress loads on the registration work of a user in an authentication apparatus with a function to prevent erroneous authentication in biometrics. <P>SOLUTION: The authentication apparatus comprises: an input part for generating source form information on the biological features on the basis of the biological features specific to each person; a primary information extracting part for extracting primary information to identify the biological features from the source form information; a secondary information extracting part for extracting a part of the source form information as secondary information by using the primary information; a registration part for storing in a storage part the secondary information to be extracted by the secondary information extracting part; and a collation part for comparing the secondary information extracted by the secondary information extracting part with the secondary information stored in the storage part to decide whether or not the authentication is successful. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
