PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability or convenience of remote control operation of a pointer on a television monitor.

SOLUTION: This image display control system is provided with a portable telephone 10 having a means (105) for storing the identification ID of a portable telephone, a plurality of operators such as a cross key 12 and an infrared signal emitting part 103 for transmitting the operation information and portable telephone identification ID of the operator. This image display control system is also provided with an STB(set-top box) 20 having an infrared signal receiving part 201 for receiving an infrared signal, a remote control code analyzing part 202 for analyzing the operation information of the operator according to the portable telephone identification ID based on the received signal and a pointer control part 203 for controlling the position of a pointer to be displayed at a TV monitor according to the operation information analytic result.
