<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system constituted so as to obtain a sufficient luminous intensity, using an ultrahigh luminance light-emitting diode. <P>SOLUTION: A predetermined work region can be illuminated by light, having a sufficient luminous intensity by converting the light La emitted from a high-luminance light-emitting diode 23 to a parallel light Lb by a condenser lens 24 and condensing the diffused light La in one direction. When the surface 25 to be inspected, such as the coating surface of a car is irradiated with the parallel light Lb, flaw 26 on the surface 25 to be inspected appears as a shadow of light.
