PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peptide that induces a T helper response, a cytotoxic lymphocyte response and a counteractive antibody in one or more hosts.

SOLUTION: The polypeptide comprises a peptide structure having multiple determinants, T helper peptides derived from envelope protein of HIV and a peptide 18 in a V3 loop of HIV-1 gp160 that corresponds to a main counteractive determinant of HIV-IIIB and is shown to contain a dominant CTL (cytotoxic T-lymphocyte) epitope. Each response arises in one or more individuals of mammals that present extensive transplantation antigen haplotype.
