PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition capable of maintaining the ink in a stable state even on adding a phosphate ester having a high lubricating effect in the ink under an acidic condition and also capable of imparting a high lubricating effect without deteriorating its performance of being achromatized. SOLUTION: This aqueous ink composition containing at least an acidic substance, a dyestuff and water, and adjusted at≤pH 4 is provided by containing the phosphate ester having≤8 HLB value, and also N-acylmethyl taurine or its salt.
