PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge to be fixed certainly to a head holder with a simple and certain mounting operation to the head holder at the time of mounting the ink cartridge on it in a simple configuration, and an inkjet recording apparatus with the ink cartridge detachably mounted on it. SOLUTION: A front recess part 42 is formed in an ink supply opening 41 at a front end part in a bottom wall 35 of an ink cartridge 2. An engaging member 46 is formed in an upper end part in a rear wall 32. A rear recess part 47 is formed in a rear end part in the bottom wall 35. Thereby, by fitting the front recess part 42 with a sealing member 57 at the time of mounting, engaging side plates 48 and 49 of the engaging member 46 are engaged with engaging groove parts 72 of an engaging part 69 according to rearward inclination by the self weight as well as the rear recess part 47 is engaged with a rear projecting part 68.
