<p>An upholstered seat (20) that converts into a bed. The seat (20) has a pair of upholstered sides (22), each having an extendible slide (42) attached onto an inner surface of the sides. The slides (42) have a length equivalent to a bed. A stationary bottom (56) having a back panel (60) is attached between the sides, while an upholstered top (62) is attached to both top edges of the sides (22). A retractable bottom platform (64), including a kick plate (66), is attached onto the extendable slides (42), thus permitting the platform to be manually urged away from the seat and extend to the length of a bed. A mattressseat (72) is folded in half, and rests on the retractable platform providing a cushion for the seat, and when extended with the mattress-seat unfolded into a flat position a bed is created. A back cushion (86) removably interfaces with the upholstered top (62) and mattress-seat to provide a cushion for lumbar support.</p> |
