<p>Provided is a material comprised of hydrogels containing cross-linked carboxylic acid-hydroxy alcohol polymers. The present invention results in a material which absorbs up to 20 times or greater of its weight in water, and simultaneously administer an effective amount of a drug to an action site. The end-use characteristics have also been found to be quite stable, non-sticky, free of smell yet pliable and conforming. As a result, it is also applicable for use as a bandage, article, pad, dressing, patch or alike.</p> |
