<p>A connector object entity for use in viewing and providing functionality in a process plant which has a processor. The connector object entity comprises a computer readable memory and an object 42 (program). The object comprises: a parameter memory store 53 associated with a connector entity in a processing plant; a graphic representation (67, fig.3) depicting the associated connector entity to an operator on a display device during execution of the object (program); one or more inputs 54 and outputs 56 adapted to connect to other objects (programs) associated with other devices in the processing plant to communicate data corresponding to the flow through the connector entity. The connector entity may be pipes, conduits, wiring, conveyor belts or any other service that moves material such as electricity, gas, fluid etc. the connector object is also known as a smart link.</p> |
