The fixing process involves producing fixing sectors by means of a punch (1). The punch is pressed from one side against one of the fixing sectors, so that the fixing sector under pressure from the punch is pressed into the adjacent fixing sector lying against it. During this process, the fixing sectors are partly pierced. The punch used has at least one separating region (8) and at least one connecting region (9).
