The present application relates to a method for repairing cracks (15) in a metal part (13) comprising the steps of providing a metal part (13) having a crack (15), cleaning the crack (15) to remove an oxide layer, depositing a repair alloy via at least one of cathodic arc deposition and low pressure plasma spraying to cover the crack (15), and heating the part (13) at a temperature and pressure sufficient to close the crack (15).
