A method for preparing a shaped cheese or a shaped cheese product, wherein cheese, optionally in combination with curd and/or other products of dairy origin, as well as with other, non protein containing dairy additions and non dairy based additive products is treated and shaped. Further, the invention relates to a cheese or cheese product shaped according to that method. Finally, the invention concerns an extrusion apparatus useful for the method.
