PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the car speed to reach a target car speed by providing a control means for controlling a car speed adjusting means to vary the acceleration and deceleration speed approaching the target car speed according to the actual car speed detected by a car speed detecting means. SOLUTION: A throttle actuator 4 is controlled to vary the acceleration and deceleration speed approaching the target car speed according to the actual car speed detected by a car speed sensor 22. A control means feedback controls the throttle actuator 4 according to the car speed deviation between the target car speed and the actual car speed. The feedback gain in the case of high car speed is set smaller than that in the case of low car speed. When a resume switch 31 is put in the on-state to enter an acceleration resume mode during the operation of a constant speed traveling device, according to the car speed deviation between the target car speed and the actual car speed and a target acceleration speed, a control variable is operated, and according to the control variable, the throttle actuator 4 is feedback controlled so that the actual speed agrees with the target car speed. |
