The connecting device has a flange (2) fastened to a support (4) for the transmission of tractive and compressive forces. The flange and the support can be fitted together in axial direction as far as a coupling intermediate position and are relatively rotatable there into a coupling closed position in which the flange and the support are reciprocally supported in both axial directions for the transmission of tractive and compressive forces.
