Liquid crystal (LC) medium based on a mixture of polar compounds contains 1-(trans-4-substituted-cyclohexyl)-2-(tra ns-4-(4-fluoro-, -chloro-, -cyano-, -haloalk(en)yl or -haloalk(enyl)oxy-phenyl)-cyclohexyl)-ethene compound(s) (I). - Liquid crystal (LC) medium based on a mixture of polar compounds contains 1-(trans-4-substituted-cyclohexyl)-2-(tra ns-4-(4-fluoro-, -chloro-, -cyano-, -haloalk(en)yl or -haloalk(enyl)oxy-phenyl)-cyclohexyl)-ethene compound(s) of formula (I). - R1 = 1-15 C (halo)alkyl or (halo)alkoxy, in which 1 or more CH2 groups may be replaced by -CC-, -CH=CH-, -O-, -CO-O- or -O-CO- without directly linked O atoms; - X = F, Cl, CN, haloalkyl, haloalkenyl, haloalkoxy or haloalkenyloxy with up to 6 C; and - L1, L2 = H or F. |
