<p>PURPOSE: To always enable proper correction by correcting a set value of a fuel injection amount based on a direct injection amount of fuel into a combustion chamber and a removal amount, and varying at least one of estimated characteristics of the direct injection part and the removal part accompanied with varying of a valve opening overlap time. CONSTITUTION: Fuel injected from an injector 16 into an intake passage 13 is divided into a direct injection part which is directly injected into a combustion chamber 7 in an in"take process at the present time, and an adhesion part adhering to an inner wall of an intake port 8. A part of a fuel holding amount of the intake port 8 where adhered fuel is deposited is removed into a cylinder chamber 2. A fuel injection amount is so set that the sum of the direct injection amount and the removal amount coincides a required fuel amount in each cycle. When it is determined that an intake valve quickening condition is effected so as to control an opening/closing timing of the intake valve is quickened by means of a variable valve timing mechanism 21, a direct injection ratio and a removal ratio are calculated at the quickening time of the intake valve based on a map for adapting for serving to fuel injection control.</p> |
