PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that enables precise embrace subjects in the frame thereof, without having the subjects going out of the frame. SOLUTION: If a target image 1, displayed in position P1 at time T1 moves and is displayed in position P2 at the same angle of view a time T2 later, the loci of positions P1 and P2 move and turn into a vector A, from whose coordinate values (x1, y1), (x2, y2) a moving distance X can be obtained to determine the moving velocity V=X/(T2-T1). If the movement V of an image 1 of interest is large, a zoom frame 90 is widened to the velocity of the target image 1. As a result, the distance between the image of the subject and the zoom frame 90' becomes fully enlarged, so that the subject is prevented from going out of the frame. If the movement of the subject is small, the zoom frame 90 is reduced to the zoom frame 90". As a result, the balance between the image 1 of interest and the zoom frame becomes satisfactory. |
