A cup holder (10) for use with beverage containers which enables the beverage consumer to more effectively grasp and hold the combined holder and container when consuming a beverage from the container, more effectively stabilize the beverage container when supported on a supporting surface and provide insulation between the exterior of the beverage container and the hand of the beverage consumer. The cup holder (10) is constructed in the form of a planar blank (14) of recyclable material which can be quickly and easily formed into a sleeve and set up without the use of glue, easily assembled onto a cup (12) or beverage container without requiring manual dexterity, easily removed from the cup (12) and recycled when combined with the cup or separated therefrom.
