<p>The invention relates to a process for pressure butt welding, without interior ridges, of the polyethylene pipes, meant for conveying natural gases or other fluids. The process consists in carrying out an interior chamfering (c) on the edges of the frontal surfaces (a and b) of some pipes (1 and 2), which may provide the processing of the melted material mass at the contact with a heated thermo-element (3) without eceeding the interior diameter of the pipes (1 and 2) which are pressure welded, before contacting the frontal surfaces (a and b) of the pipes (1 and 2) there will be introduced a thin metal nipple (4) so that the ridges resulting after plastifying the two pipes (1 and 2) flare only outwards of the welded joint.</p> |
