<p>The invention relates to a sheathed electrode for oxygen arc cutting, especially meant for the quick cutting of metal pieces. According to the invention, the electrode comprises a strand of twisted steel wires sheathed in a pressure pipe having certain deformations for attaching the electrode and for making some nozzles wherethrough the oxygen jet required for cutting can pass. The steel wire of the strand has a chemical composition of 0.2% carbon at the most, 0.8% manganese at the most, 0.07% silicon at the most, 0.06% phosphorus at the most and 0.06 sulphur at the most, the percentage being expressed by weight.</p> |
